Who are we? At TDM we have a good balanced team of people, each with their own individual professional skill set. Broadly speaking, our skills fall into the categories of "Trainer", "Manager" and "Geek". This is illustrated in the TDM skills Venn diagram (right). Derrin Kent

Managing Director

Derrin has been involved with web development and e-Learning since the year 2000 and with Moodle since 2005.Derrin has worked continuously in Corporate-Sector Education and Corporate-Sector Educational Management since graduating in Education Studies in 1988. He has been involved with WBL delivery in the UK since 2004. He has an NQF Level 7 Teaching Diploma from the University of Cambridge and is also an LPIC Qualified Linux Professional. Elizabeth Hoyos Gamero

Operations Manager

Ely has been working at TDM since 2009. She graduated from the National University of Trujillo in 2000 with a degree in teaching, specialising in languages. She has worked alongside teachers and teacher trainers in Peru to improve teaching delivery in a wide range of subjects, from primary education up to adult learning.  Currently taking an NVQ4 in management using Mahara to evidence her work. Ely is passionate about open source and all the benefits this could bring to companies, students and trainers alike. Ely is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Tom Bell

Learning Technologist

Tom graduated in Environmental Sciences in 2009. He has now been working for TDM for over 12 months as an Instructional Designer and Learning Technologist and has already established himself as a cornerstone of our team. He was also on the management team of LocaEyes, a community building website, and has helped us gain our high standing with ESF on our sustainability and equal opportunities policies as well as being a member of the Sector Reference Group on Sustainability for LSIS. Meg Kent

Training and Development Manager

Meg has worked as a Corporate Director in the field of Work-Based Learning since 1991. She worked her way up into this position from the grassroots roles of a management trainer and contract manager. She was chairperson of the National Training Federation (NTF) - Midlands Region in the 1990's and chairperson of the Birmingham & Solihull Training Provider Network 2002-2006; she was also involved in LSC strategic planning as a member of both the Midlands region LSC Policy Forum and the National LSC Rate Review Panel. Laurent David

ICT System Administrator, Trainer, Developer

Laurent has a Master’s degree in computer engineering, From 1999, he worked for a period of four years at AtosOrigin in France mainly in software development, testing and customer support. He is also a Linux Institute Certified Professional and leads on the delivery of our ICT professional qualifications. He became a Qualified Teacher in UK in 2006 and has  been involved in Education since 2005. Laurent is passionate about e-Learning and Open Technologies. Apart from the ICT training at TDM he is in charge of the systems administration of all TDM's clients sites,  and also leads in development projects. Laurent is fluent in both French and English.

Richard Hand

Information Technologist

Richard has been working at TDM since 2008. He graduated from the University of Bristol in Summer 2008 with a degree in Computer Science. Most of his work involves theming and configuring Moodle and Mahara and Joomla websites. Read more about Richard on LinkedIn.

Luis David Hoyos Gamero

Illustrator / Graphic Artist

David is a Communication Sciences Graduate (from Universidad Privada del Norte, Trujillo – Peru.) He is a graphic artist and illustrator who has also received honourable mentions in his university for cinematography and creative publicity. He produces bespoke graphics, illustrations and videos which are used within TDM learning materials.

Derek Tiffany

Customer Relationship Manager

Derek worked for HBOS for nearly 24 years in a variety of roles, ranging from leading the sales team in a busy branch, to administering the sale of repossessed properties in the 90's through to a Customer Service Manager in a large specialist Call Centre. His role within TDM, is as Customer Relationship Manager, ensuring that we are providing excellent customer service and also in undertaking a sales/marketing role developing new areas of the business.
